Pumas pounce on massive win

Moyston Willaura Pumas under-16 footballers enjoyed a comprehensive 86-point win over Wickliffe/Lake Bolac Magpies in round eight of the Mininera Football Netball League.

The Pumas dominated from the outset but could only manage two goals and three behinds despite having many chances inside fifty.

They played better in the second quarter with Cooper Field leading the way through the midfield and Net Jackson slotting a couple of goals to extend the margin to 43 at halftime.

The Pumas stayed on top of the contest with Jules Lockwood and Jack Monument providing some great support through the midfield as they extended their lead to 71 points at three-quarter time.

In the final quarter, the Magpies fought hard, but the Pumas ran out the game strong, winning 12.15.87 to one behind.

Ned Jackson was best on the ground for the Pumas kicking five goals. Jakobi Cooper was also one of the best players kicking two. Samuel Dowthwaite, Cooper Field, Jules Lockwood, Archie McKinnon and Paddy Price also hit the scoreboard for the Pumas while Jack Monument was also one of the best players on the ground.

Ariki Tuhakaraina was the best player for the Magpies with Ernest Pacujan, Fergus Giles, Ben Stacy, Rafferty Groenendyk and Alexander Lowen also among their best players.
