Mental health on the agenda at film screening

THE importance of mental health and looking after each other will be front and centre at a community event in Avoca on Friday.

The Pyrenees Mental Health and Wellbeing Network is a local group established by Wesley Mission in response to increased suicides within our local community.

The focus of the network is to encourage discussion about mental health and raise awareness of the ripple effect from suicide.

The Network will be hosting a free community event on Friday 11th July held at the Avoca Town Hall where there will be a screening of the movie Just a Farmer.

Actor, scriptwriter and producer of Just a Farmer Leila McDougall will be the special guest of the evening.

The evening will be catered and includes a panel of local services and experts for a question and answer session following the screening.

The event is free to local residents ande those attending have the chance to win door prizes, including a 43 litre fridge/freezer by Dometic.
