Dobie memorial vandalised
MAYOR Bob Sanders has slammed those responsible for spreading graffiti across two monuments at the Dobie Memorial Park. Local residents woke this morning to discover the damage, which includes graffiti across the entrance stone and main memorial as well as the theft of a plaque containing the names of local men who fought and died in war.
Vandals attacked the Dobie War Memorial overnight.

Mayor Bob Sanders said it was outrageous that someone would target the Dobie memorial.
Pro indigenous slogans were spray painted across the two memorial stones and someone has also used a tool to cut into the rock surface and uprooted and taken several trees planted in the precinct.
Mayor Bob Sanders met up with local residents at the site this morning.
“This is really disgusting behaviour,” he said.
“Who attacks a war memorial, a place that honours the brace people who fought in war?”
